i5 3rd generation or 4th generation processor

Please suggest me ..
what should i buy ..
a 3rd generation or a 4rd generation i5 processor for a laptop .
please give reasons and please help me for deciding .
Note : i am not that much into gaming .
i will mostly run heavy softwares like autocad and all ....so please .help me guys ...
