want to introduce you to the man who got me started on the road to learning how product launches are put together, because he's about to release a string of educational videos that will give you a definite edge when it comes to your product launch. I'll be dissecting his launch strategy over the next few days, but this is a more "personal" story in this post - and I'll be offering you $1,000 worth of launch coaching from me (details at the end of the post). If it wasn't for Jeff, I wouldn't be writing you today ? and I certainly wouldn't have been able to generate over $100,000 worth of sales for myself and my clients, so I'm speaking from experience when I tell you that his videos are worth watching ? even though I resisted watching them years ago (you can get the back story below). The man's name is Jeff Walker, and you can get access to the first of those videos here: Jeff Walker's "Food Stamps to Six Figures Video" Even if you have no interest in picking up his program, the other videos he'll be releasing will be an education in itself. In fact, the link above is an opt-in form to get the video - and you should definitely opt-in and watch exactly how he handles the opt-in and follow-up process, so you can duplicate it on your launch. But on to the backstory. :-) It's 2005, and I get on Jeff Walker's email list, because I have an an audio program I'm wanting to launch. But my mailing list is tiny, and I'm not sure how to leverage it (sound familiar?) I make a few sales, but nothing to quit the day job over. But then Jeff starts sending out these "case study" videos about how people are using his Product Launch Formula product to make tens of thousands of dollars in sales. I'm interested, but Product Launch Formula is $997, so it's way out of my price range. So I just stay on the list and do my best to learn from the case studies. (I learned a lot from each case study, too, so I highly recommend you getting on Jeff's list to do the same, even if - no, especially if - PLF seems just too pricey for you). Anyway, to make a long story short, two years go by. I'm still making paltry sales, but I'm learning. And the case studies keep coming. Literally, I must have received 40 or 50 of these, and then one day it hits me ? I'm looking at everything the wrong way. I love to quote Warren Buffett, who says "Price is what you pay, value is what you get." I've been looking at Product Launch Formula as "too expensive," when instead I should be looking at the potential return I could get from picking up the training. I'm trying to sell a $97 product ? and it finally hits me that if I can sell a whopping eleven copies of my own product, then the damn thing will have paid for itself. It's funny how stupid we get with money. I'm worrying about how much something costs instead of how much I could make from it. Anyway, after 2 years of avoiding it, I finally (grudgingly) admitted that maybe some advanced training would be worth the money. So when the next case study arrived in my inbox, I took a closer look at the sales page for Product Launch Formula, and scrolled straight to the return policy section. There was a 60-day return period, so I took a deep breath, took out my credit card, and bought it, committed to returning it if I couldn't make my money back within 60 days. I studied it for a month, then took action. The package was pretty meaty (20 CDs and a DVD when I got the "original" version), so it took me some time to get through it. It actually took me a week to get through it, but I procrastinated the rest of the time. :-) But when I took action, I saw some pretty powerful results. Using my small list - less than 200 people at the time - I was able to make the entire $997 back - and then some - in just five days of promotion. And I've raised my price on that $97 product four times ? and it continues to sell. I'm not telling you this to impress you, but instead to get you to get honest with yourself ? You're on this list because you want to sell more of your stuff - you want to make more money. But one of the most important lessons of business is that you have to invest time in training if you want to take your business to a higher level. That $997 paid for itself in a week on my end ? and has led to over $140,000 in product sales for me and my clients. (If you're on my email list, you'll note that this weekend's email said "$100,000? ? but the last 48 hours have been very good to my clients). But I'm not advising you rush out and invest money (even though I would be pumped if you bought the new version of Product Launch Formula). I'm advising you to start out small, and invest your time. Watch this video and take notes - the crazy, thorough notes that you'd take if your money was on the line (because it is, in terms of future sales you'll miss if you don't get this information). Sign up for Jeff's list and take notes on the other videos as well. It's a hell of a lot cheaper than hiring me (I start at $4000 for launch planning and only go up from there). You can take the first step here: Jeff Walker's "Food Stamps to Six Figures Video" ? and yes, that is an affiliate link, and yes, you will want to use it, because if by some chance you do pick up Jeff's program for a "prove it!" evaluation, just like I did, I want you to use my link, because I'll give you $1000 in personal launch coaching so you can run with it - if you're one of the first 5 people to buy. I didn't have a coach when I did it, so this is a crazy good bonus if you happen to pick up the program. Anyway, thanks for listening to the backstory. Learn from the videos, and invest that time in yourself, because it will pay foritself over and over and over again. Tell Jeff that Dave sent you! :-) Jeff Walker's "Food Stamps to Six Figures Video" (Tomorrow we'll dig into the details of how Jeff's running this launch and what you can learn from it.)
