Incessant rain lashing Mumbai since last night disrupted normal life on Friday. All train services, local as well as passenger, have been badly hit due to the rains.
Flights operations at the Mumbai airport are likely hit as the day progresses. Currently, there are no weather-related delays in arrivals and departures. But if the runway visibility falls, then operations would be suspended at the Mumbai airport.
A NOTAM (notice to airmen) has been issued stating that it will remain closed till 1pm. "We will start operations before 2pm, if the situation improves," said an airport official. Juhu airport houses the country's busiest heliport. It handles an average of 130 flights a day, most of them helicopters engaged to aid oil rig operations.
