Nagged for clothing, woman kills father-in-law with husbands help in Surat
SURAT: A couple from Amroli area of the city was booked by police on Sunday for allegedly murdering the husband's 55-year-old father. The couple initially created story of suicide but post-mortem revealed that the deceased was murdered. The deceased was murdered for nagging to daughter-in-law over improper clothing. The deceased did not like short clothes of daughter-in-law, the accused claimed in their statement.
Police booked Sangita Solanki and her husband Ajay for allegedly murdering Ajay's father Dalpat at their residence in Amroli area of the city on Saturday night. Ajay strangulated his father with help of Sangita. Post-mortem examination revealed that the deceased was thrashed by the couple before strangulation.
Dalpat, resident of Abhishek Township, in Amroli area of the city, was shifted to New Civil Hospital (NCH) in 108 ambulance. Doctors declared him brought dead. Ajay, initially claimed that his father was found unconscious on Saturday night when he and his wife returned from outside.
Ajay initially informed police that his father might have committed suicide. During post-mortem doctors spotted injury marks on neck, hand and leg of the deceased. Doctors claimed in post-mortem report that the deceased was strangulated to death.
Following the PM report police started questioning of Ajay and Sangita. During cross questioning they confessed that they murdered Dalpat on Saturday night but to hide their crime they initially created suicide story. Police arrested the accused.
"The couple informed police that Dalpat used to nag Sangita over improper clothing often. Alleged nagging led to fight between the couple. Following a fight between the couple and the deceased on Saturday night Dalpat was murdered," said police.
Sangita also got admitted in hospital complaining injury in stomach as she was allegedly kicked by her sister-in-law. Police informed that Sangita is pregnant and might have suffered injury while murdering the deceased.
