Mumbai: Former Bihar chief minister Lalu Prasad Yadav underwent a six hour long surgery at Asian Heart Institute in the Bandrap-Curla Complex on wednesday.

He underwent three procedures during his operations-his aortic valve was replaced , a portion of his ascending aorta was repaired and 3 mm hole in the heart was closed.
After performing the surgery hospital's head doctor Ramakant Panda said: There were no surprises. We have already informed the family that there were multiple issues in the heart and they were ready. Yadav who rushed to Mumbai on sunday got admitted to hospital the next day will be in the ICU for next 3 to 4 another weak.
"It was a flawless operation and Laluji tolerated very well" added doctor Panda.
The former Bihar chief minister will also be put through a cardiac rehabilitation programme.
